// SEO FOR TRADIES
SEO for tradies, built around the jobs you want more of
SEO for tradies is getting found in Google by the people in your area who need your trade today. A plumber, a sparky and a landscaper are searched for in completely different ways, so we research your trade first and build the pages and profile that win those searches. One fixed project, from $3,500 + GST. No retainer.
// TRADE BY TRADE
Every trade is searched differently
Generic tradie SEO advice treats every trade the same. The search data does not. Some trades live on urgent calls, some on slow research, some on the weather. This is the pattern we plan around before a page is written.
Plumbers
- Urgent searches
- burst pipe, blocked drain, no hot water
- Planned searches
- hot water replacement, bathroom renovation plumbing
Map pack and a phone number in the first screen. Directories hold a lot of page one.
SEO for plumbers →Electricians
- Urgent searches
- no power, safety switch keeps tripping
- Planned searches
- switchboard upgrade, EV charger installation, rewiring
The urgent and planned searches need different pages. Licence details are a ranking and trust asset.
SEO for electricians →Roofers
- Urgent searches
- roof leak, storm damage repair
- Planned searches
- re-roofing, gutter replacement, roof restoration
Demand spikes after storms. The pages need to exist and be indexed before the weather turns.
SEO for roofers →Air conditioning
- Urgent searches
- air con not cooling, split system repair
- Planned searches
- split system installation, ducted air con cost
Heavily seasonal. Cost pages earn the research traffic months before the heatwave calls.
Builders and carpenters
- Urgent searches
- rarely urgent
- Planned searches
- deck builder, home extension, granny flat cost
Long research cycles. Project photos, cost detail and a portfolio per job type do the selling.
Landscapers and concreters
- Urgent searches
- rarely urgent
- Planned searches
- concrete driveway cost, retaining wall, turf laying
Visual and price-led. Image search and a cost page per job type matter more than speed of contact.
Plumbers, electricians and roofers have their own pages because their search patterns are the most different from the rest. Other trades get the same research, done fresh for your services and suburbs.
// WHERE TRADE WORK IS WON
Three places a tradie can rank, and what each one needs
"Ranking on Google" is three different jobs for a trade business. Most tradie SEO packages sell one of them. The project covers all three, weighted to how your trade is searched.
The map pack
Three business profiles and a map, sitting above the normal results for most local trade searches. It is decided mostly by your Google Business Profile, your category, your reviews and your distance from the searcher.
A page per job
One page for each job you want more of, written in the words customers type. A single "our services" page competes weakly for every job on it and wins none of them.
Cost and comparison pages
Planned-work buyers search the price before they search the business. A plain cost page for your main job catches them at the start of the decision, not the end.
Need the profile alone? Google Business Profile setup is a fixed $390 + GST job. Wondering what a cost page looks like? Ours is what a tradie website costs.
// A TRADE BUILD, DOCUMENTED
What this looked like for an electrician
Electrical & Air Conditioning · Joondalup, WA
Four pages to 46, built the way electrical work is searched
Joondalup Electrical came to us in July 2026 with four indexed pages and no page for the job the owner most wanted, switchboard upgrades. Urgent faults now get their own pages with the phone in reach. Planned work gets a page each. Sixteen suburb pages cover the area the business actually services. The Google Business Profile was rebuilt as a service-area business, and review requests now go out automatically when a job is done.
The build went live in August 2026. It is too early for ranking or lead figures, so we do not publish any. The review count is from the published case study.
// PRICE
A project with a finish line, from $3,500 + GST
Most of the real SEO work for a trade business happens up front: research, page structure, writing, the profile and the tracking. So we price it up front. One fixed number before work starts, around six weeks of work, then a written handover. You own the pages and the accounts.
The full scope and week-by-week timeline sit on our SEO service page. The price ladder for everything else is on the pricing page.
// WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
- Suburb pages with only the suburb name swapped. Google treats that as a doorway pattern, and it is the fastest way to waste a budget.
- Keywords stuffed into your Google Business Profile name. It breaks Google’s guidelines and gets profiles suspended.
- Bought links or link packages. Trade keywords rarely need many links, and the risk is not worth it.
- A rolling monthly retainer with no end date. The work is scoped, delivered and handed over.
- Promised positions or dates. Nobody controls Google, and a quote that says otherwise is guessing.

Get in touchWhat is SEO for tradies?
SEO for tradies is getting a trade business found in Google when someone nearby searches for the job you do. In practice that means three things: a Google Business Profile that can show in the map pack, a page on your site for each job you want more of, and the technical and tracking work that lets Google read those pages and lets you see which ones bring calls.
How much does SEO for tradies cost?
Our SEO for tradies is a one-off project from $3,500 + GST, not a monthly retainer. The price moves with how many services and service areas the plan covers. You get a fixed number in writing before any work starts. If you only need a Google Business Profile set up and verified, that is a separate fixed $390 + GST job.
Is SEO different for each trade?
The method is the same. The searches are not. Plumbers and electricians get urgent, phone-in-hand searches where the map pack takes most of the clicks. Builders, landscapers and concreters get slow, researched searches where cost pages and project photos win. Roofers and air conditioning businesses get seasonal spikes. The research is done fresh for your trade and your area before any page is planned.
How long does SEO take for a trade business?
Google Business Profile changes can show within weeks. New service pages usually take a few months to settle, and competitive city searches take longer. We will not promise a position or a date.
Should a tradie do SEO or Google Ads first?
If you need calls this month, Google Ads. If you want calls that do not cost a fee per click, SEO. Many trades run ads while the pages build, then lean on search as it comes through. Our guide on SEO versus Google Ads for tradies covers the trade-off in full.
Do I need a new website first?
Not always. If your site is fast and can take new pages, we work with it. If it is slow or locked down, a conversion website from $2,800 + GST is the better first spend, and the SEO work goes on top of it.
