Hipages cost calculator: what you'll really pay per booked job

The hipages cost that matters is not the membership fee or the credit price. It is what a job you actually win ends up costing once the subscription, the credits and the leads that went nowhere are all counted. Enter your own numbers below and see it. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent anywhere.

// THE CALCULATOR

Run your own numbers

Rough figures are fine to start with. The result updates as you type, and the sections below cover where each default comes from.

Default is the Advanced tier. Official plans run $139 to $649.

Tradies report roughly $10 to $80+ depending on trade and job size. Slide to what your leads actually cost.

Default is 1 in 5, a common strike rate on shared leads. Use your own.

Effective cost per booked job

$232 in membership and credits, before you drive to it

Total spend of about $1,007 a month, roughly $46 per lead you contact.

Each booked job is carrying about $232 in hipages fees before you start it. On larger jobs that can still stack up. On small callouts it is a big slice of the invoice.

This is an estimate based only on the numbers you entered, not a quote or a guarantee. It prices every accepted lead at your credit figure; if your leads all fit inside your plan's included credit allowance and you never buy top-ups, your true cash spend is the membership line alone, so divide that by your monthly booked jobs instead. GST, quoting time and travel are not counted.

// THE MATHS

How the calculator works out the number

Three lines of arithmetic, no assumptions of ours baked in anywhere.

Effective cost per booked job

total monthly spend = membership + (leads per week × 4.33 × credit cost)
cost per lead contacted = total monthly spend ÷ leads per month
cost per booked job = total monthly spend ÷ (leads per month × win rate)

The 4.33 is just weeks in an average month (52 divided by 12). Run the defaults: an Advanced membership at $249, five accepted leads a week at $35 each. That is about 21.7 leads and $758 of credits a month, $1,007 all-in, or roughly $46 per lead you contact.

Then the win rate does the damage. At 1 in 5, those 21.7 leads become 4.3 jobs, and $1,007 divided by 4.3 jobs is about $232 per booked job. The advertised cost of a lead and the real cost of a job are different numbers because the four leads that went nowhere were paid for by the one that did not.

The maths is honest in both directions. Push the win rate up to 40 per cent, or accept cheap high-volume leads at the bottom of the slider, and the cost per booked job drops to a figure that genuinely competes with most marketing. Plenty of tradies run hipages profitably at the small-job end. The point of the calculator is not that the answer is always bad; it is that you should know yours before the renewal date.

// THE OFFICIAL NUMBERS

What hipages officially charges, as at August 2026

From the hipages membership packages page. Prices are per month, ex GST. Membership starts on a 6-month introductory term, then auto-renews on a 12-month term. Paying 12 months upfront takes 5% off.

Plan Per month, ex GST Included credits Directory postcodes Credit rollover
Starter $139 155/month 1 1 month
Advanced $249 310/month 3 1 month
Premium $449 595/month 5 2 months
Platinum $649 810/month 10 2 months

What the official page does not carry is a per-lead price. Credits are the currency, the plans above are the bundles, and the cost of any given lead is set by hipages and varies with demand. That gap between a published membership fee and an unpublished lead cost is exactly why the calculator asks for your own credit figure.

// WHAT TRADIES REPORT

The credit costs hipages doesn't publish

None of the figures below are official. They are what tradies report on Whirlpool and ProductReview, linked in the sources section so you can read them yourself.

  1. 01
    Per-lead prices are not published, and they move

    Hipages itself says the credits needed to accept a lead vary by job category, location, size of job, and supply and demand. That is the official position: there is no rate card. Tradies on Whirlpool report leads at roughly $8 to $50 in the long-running pay-per-lead thread, and $20 to $40 in a second thread, with prices creeping up over time. Reviewers on ProductReview describe average lead costs climbing from about 42 to 75 credits, with single leads reaching 120.

  2. 02
    You pay whether or not you win, and so do two competitors

    Every lead is capped at 3 businesses, which hipages presents as a feature, and it is, compared with uncapped marketplaces. But it also means up to three tradies pay to contact the same homeowner and at most one wins the job. Credits are spent on acceptance, not on outcome. That structure is why the only number worth tracking is cost per booked job, not cost per lead.

  3. 03
    The included credits run out faster than the tier names suggest

    Divide any plan price by its included credits and a credit works out at roughly 75 to 90 cents. At the 42 to 75 credits per lead that reviewers report as average, a Starter allowance of 155 credits covers about 2 to 3 leads a month, and an Advanced allowance of 310 covers about 4 to 7. Most members accepting a few leads a week are buying top-up credits, which is what the calculator above prices in.

// THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LEDGER

The same monthly spend, pointed at leads you own

Whatever total the calculator showed you is a fixed marketing budget. The question is whether it keeps renting shared leads or starts buying an asset.

Treat your figure, about $1,007 a month at the defaults, as a budget rather than a bill. Pointed at hipages, it buys this month's leads, shared with up to two competitors, and stops the day you stop paying. Pointed at your own channel, a fast website that ranks, a worked Google Business Profile and a steady stream of reviews, it builds a lead source that arrives alone, is not resold, and keeps compounding after the invoice is paid.

That is slower to start, which is the honest trade-off, and it is why many tradies run hipages as a top-up while the owned channel spins up, then wind the credits down. We break the full comparison down in buying leads versus generating your own, and what the forums say about the platform itself in is hipages worth it. For transparency: our Lead System is the owned-channel version of that budget, so we are not neutral on this question. The calculator's maths does not care either way.

Where every number on this page comes from

Official figures and tradie-reported figures are kept separate on this page and labelled below. Everything else is arithmetic you can reproduce from the formulas shown. All sources checked August 2026; hipages can change its pricing at any time, so treat the official page as the source of truth.

Get in touch
Is hipages worth it?

It depends entirely on your cost per booked job, which is what this calculator works out. Hipages can fill a quiet calendar fast, and since Oneflare closed in mid 2026 it is the biggest dedicated trades marketplace in Australia. But each lead is sold to up to 3 businesses, credits are spent whether or not you win the work, and membership runs on a 6-month term that renews for 12. If your cost per booked job sits comfortably inside an average job’s margin, it is worth keeping as one channel. If it does not, the same monthly spend put into your own website, Google Business Profile and reviews builds a lead source nobody resells.

How much are hipages credits, and what does a lead cost?

As at August 2026, hipages membership plans run from $139 to $649 a month plus GST and include 155 to 810 credits a month depending on tier, which works out at roughly 75 to 90 cents per credit. Hipages does not publish per-lead prices: it says the credits needed to accept a lead vary by job category, location, size of job, and supply and demand. Tradies report leads commonly costing about $10 to $80 or more, and reviewers on ProductReview describe average lead costs climbing from around 42 to 75 credits, with some leads reaching 120.

Can you negotiate hipages costs?

There is no published way to negotiate per-lead credit prices, which hipages sets and moves with demand. The levers you do control: the tier you sit on, a 5 per cent discount for paying 12 months upfront, pausing the subscription for 14 to 31 days on the introductory term or up to 62 days across a 12-month term, and asking support to return credits on dud leads under the job leads and credit policy. There is also a 7-day cooling-off period at signup, provided you have not accepted a lead. The biggest lever is the calendar: subscriptions start on a 6-month term and auto-renew for 12 months at a time, so diary the renewal date before you sign anything.
