Google Business Profile suspended? Causes and reinstatement
A Google Business Profile suspended by Google has usually broken one of Google's guidelines for representing a business, and reinstatement means fixing that breach and then appealing with evidence. This page covers the common causes first, straight from Google's own help pages, then how we help trade businesses through the appeal.

// WHY PROFILES GET SUSPENDED
Six common causes, from Google's own guidelines
Google's help page on suspended profiles says it may suspend or disable profiles that don't follow its guidelines. These are the rules in Google's guidelines for representing your business that trade businesses break most often.
Keywords in the business name
Google says the name should reflect your real-world business name, without keywords, taglines or location details. A trade name with suburbs and "24/7" added to the end is the classic example.
An address you do not operate from
Google lists P.O. boxes at remote locations and virtual offices as ineligible. A rented mailing address with no business run from it does not qualify for a profile.
A service area set up as a storefront
A service-area business without a storefront should hide its address, and Google says the overall service area shouldn’t extend farther than about 2 hours of driving time from where the business is based.
More than one profile for one location
Google’s guidelines say not to create more than one page for each location of a business, in one account or across several. Old duplicate profiles count.
A phone number or website that redirects
The number should connect to your business location, not a central call centre, and neither the number nor the URL should refer people to a different business.
Categories used as keywords
Google asks for as few categories as possible to describe the core business, and not categories added only as keywords or attributes.
Also clean up anything that breaks Google's fake engagement policy before you appeal: paid or incentivised reviews, reviews posted from several accounts by one person, and asking only happy customers for reviews are all prohibited.
// HOW REINSTATEMENT WORKS
How a Google Business Profile reinstatement appeal works
Appeals go through Google's Business Profile appeals tool. Google's help page lists evidence that strengthens an appeal: official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates, and utility bills such as electricity, phone, water or internet. The business name and address on the evidence need to match the profile you are appealing.
Two details catch people out. Evidence has to be uploaded within 60 minutes or it won't be attached to the appeal. And Google says not to create a new Business Profile for the same business while the appeal is under review. If an appeal is not approved, Google allows an additional review with new evidence.

How we help with a suspended profile
Google decides every appeal, so we never promise reinstatement. What we do is make sure the appeal Google reads is the strongest one the business can put forward.
Find the likely cause
We go through the profile field by field against Google’s guidelines and tell you plainly which breach is the most likely trigger, and whether the business is eligible at all.
Fix it before appealing
Name, address, service area, categories, phone and duplicate profiles corrected first, so the appeal is not asking Google to reinstate the same problem.
Gather the evidence
We tell you which documents to collect, check that the business name and address on them match the profile, and have them ready before the upload window opens.
Lodge and follow through
The appeal goes in through Google’s appeals tool with you. If it is not approved, we look at what new evidence could support an additional review.

Who this is for, and who should not buy it
-
Your profile is suspended and you cannot tell which guideline it broke. -
Someone else set the profile up, and you do not know what was changed along the way. -
You work from home or on customers’ sites, and the address and service area settings confuse you. -
You already appealed once and it was not approved.
-
You know the cause and can fix it yourself. You can lodge the appeal yourself through Google’s appeals tool. -
The business only has a virtual office or a P.O. box. Google lists those as ineligible, and no appeal changes that. -
You want a guarantee. Google decides every appeal, and nobody outside Google can promise reinstatement. -
You want a new profile created to replace the suspended one. Google says not to do that while an appeal is under review.

A fixed quote, after we have seen the profile
Reinstatement help is quoted as one fixed number once we have looked at the profile and the suspension notice. If the business is not eligible for a profile, we tell you before you spend anything on an appeal. No hourly billing and no lock-in contract.
Once the profile is back, keeping it inside the guidelines is what Google Business Profile management covers. Profile live but not appearing in searches? See why a Google Business Profile is not showing up. Local search as a whole sits inside our SEO project for tradies.

Get in touchWhy was my Google Business Profile suspended?
Google says it may suspend or disable profiles that don’t follow its guidelines. For trade businesses the common breaches are keywords in the business name, an address the business does not operate from, a service-area business showing a storefront address, a service area wider than about 2 hours of driving, duplicate profiles, and redirecting phone numbers or websites.
How do I get my Google Business Profile reinstated?
Fix the cause first, then submit an appeal through Google’s Business Profile appeals tool with evidence that the business is real and matches the profile. Google lists documents such as business registration, a business licence, tax certificates and utility bills. Google reviews the appeal and emails you its decision.
Can you guarantee reinstatement?
No, and nobody honestly can. Google decides every appeal. What we can do is find the likely cause, fix the profile to Google’s guidelines, and put the strongest evidence in front of Google. If the business is not eligible, we will tell you that before you pay for an appeal.
Should I create a new profile while my appeal is under review?
No. Google’s help page on suspended profiles says not to create a new Business Profile for the same business while your appeal is under review.
What if my appeal is not approved?
Google allows an additional review of a denied request when you have new evidence. That is where it pays to look hard at what the first appeal was missing, rather than sending the same documents again.
How much does Google Business Profile reinstatement help cost?
It is priced as a fixed quote after we have looked at the profile and the suspension notice, because a single wrong setting and a profile with several breaches are different jobs. No hourly billing and no lock-in contract.
