// VIDEO VERIFICATION
Google Business Profile video verification failed? Film it like this
Google Business Profile video verification failed usually means the video didn’t tie the business to one real place in one unbroken take, or something in it didn’t match the profile. Our fix is a process, not a better camera. We check the profile, request the video and text the link to the owner. The owner films it on site, on the day, on their own phone, following four shots in order, and submits it straight away.

// THE SHOT LIST
The four shots, in this order
Shots 2 and 3 only if they genuinely exist. No shopfront or sign? See video verification with no shopfront.
- The road. Start at the street: the street sign, your letterbox and the house or unit number in frame.
- A vehicle with the business logo on it. Walk around it so the name can be read. Skip this shot if your work vehicle has no logo.
- The door with the business logo, or the sign on the window. Close enough to read the name. Skip it if there is no permanent sign.
- The office desk. Computer on with your business software or email open, and a business document such as an invoice or licence with the numbers covered. Someone can be at the desk, but keep faces out of shot.
Google's rules for the recording
- One unedited, complete recording with no breaks, at least 30 seconds long. Film it as one walk from the road to the desk.
- Recorded live through your Business Profile on your phone, at the business. Google doesn't accept a video recorded earlier and uploaded later.
- The business name on any sign or vehicle has to match the name on the profile.
- No bank, tax or ID numbers, no customer details on screen, and no other people's faces.
Never borrow a vehicle or put up a sign for the camera. Source: Google's video verification help, checked October 2026.
// BEFORE YOU PRESS RECORD
The setup checks that matter as much as the shots
- Film at the business, on the day. Plan a time in daylight, with the vehicle parked out the front.
- Use a phone that is physically there. The link goes to the owner’s phone, not ours.
- Allow location, camera and microphone when the phone asks.
- One take, no edits. If you stumble, record it again from the start.
- Submit straight away at high quality, on good mobile data or wifi.
- Check the name first. The profile name and the name on your sign, vehicle and paperwork should match exactly.
// WHY VIDEOS FAIL
The usual reasons a verification video fails
Google shows its reasons under “Review issues” in your Business Profile, and its help says the next video should include everything from the first one plus what was missing. From the rejections owners post about, the common threads are:
- No clear link to the street. “No view of surrounding area”, even when the video started at a street sign, often means the walk from the sign to the business was cut or skipped.
- The name doesn’t match. The profile says one name, the sign or vehicle says another.
- Filmed by someone who isn’t there. Remote agencies and head offices can’t film a location they aren’t at.
- Signage Google can’t read. Small, dirty or angled decals, filmed from too far away.
These are patterns from owners’ posts, not Google rules.
// OUT OF ATTEMPTS
If it now says “No more ways to verify”
Owners report reaching this message after several failed attempts. Stop resubmitting the same video. We check the profile for mismatches first, then help you take it to Google Business Profile support with the details they ask for. Stuck on “processing” instead? See verification pending. Profile suspended rather than unverified? Start with Google Business Profile suspended.
// PRICING

Get my next video rightWhy was my Google Business Profile verification video rejected?
Google lists the reasons under “Review issues” in your Business Profile. Owners often find them vague. The common causes we see in their posts are a video that doesn’t connect the street to the business, a business name that doesn’t match the sign, and a video filmed by someone who isn’t at the location.
Do I need to show my street sign?
Google’s help asks for street signs, building numbers, nearby businesses or familiar places around the business. We start every video at the road, with the street sign and letterbox in frame, and keep filming all the way in.
Does the sign need to match my business name exactly?
Google says the name on the signage has to match your Business Profile. If the profile and your sign or vehicle say different things, fix that before you film.
Can I edit the video or film it in parts?
No. Google asks for one unedited, complete recording with no breaks, at least 30 seconds long, captured live through the Business Profile. A video recorded earlier and uploaded later isn’t accepted.
Can our agency film the verification video for us?
Not from somewhere else. The recording is captured live and has to show the business’s location, so it has to be filmed by someone standing there. We send the owner the link and brief them instead.
How long does Google take to review the video?
Google’s help says up to 5 business days, and on rare occasions longer. Google sets that, not us.
