What you control is whether the profile is ready when Google looks: everything matching, nothing being edited, and a clean video ready if Google asks for one. That’s the part we take on.

What to stop doing while it’s pending
- Stop editing the profile. Google’s verification help says editing the name, address or category stops a postcard code working, and every change gives Google something new to review.
- Stop requesting new codes. Google says not to request a new code while you wait for one.
- Don’t create a second profile. Google allows one profile per business. A duplicate is a problem of its own.

What to check while you wait
It’s the same idea behind how we move a profile to a new address: make Google’s job easy before it looks.
- The business name is identical on the profile, website, signage, vehicle and paperwork.
- The address, hidden or not, matches the website, the schema in the site’s code, Facebook, LinkedIn and every directory listing.
- The phone number on the profile answers at the business.
Fix those on the website and listings, not on the profile, while it’s pending.

Can I edit my profile while verification is pending?
Hold off. For postcard verification Google says not to edit the business name, address or category, or the code won’t work. For any method, an edit gives Google something new to review.
Why does my postcard code not work?
Google’s help says not to request a new code while you wait, and not to edit the name, address or category. Either can stop the code you were sent from working.
Can I run Local Services Ads while my profile is pending?
Owners in the same spot report Local Services Ads blocked until the profile is verified. Plan your ads around it rather than relying on a date.
Should I delete the profile and start again?
No. Google’s guidelines allow one profile per business, so a new one creates a duplicate, and you lose the history on the old one.
