To cancel hipages, contact hipages by phone, email or in the app. In the 7-day cooling-off period with no leads accepted, you get your initial payment back. After that, turn off auto-renewal so the term ends on its date.
- Cooling off runs 7 days from joining and from each renewal. Accepting a single job lead waives it for that term.
- Cancelling outside cooling off can attract an early termination fee equal to the subscription fees left in the term.
- Turning off auto-renewal can be done at any time by phone, email or in the app. The membership then ends with the current term.
- Terms start at 6 months and renew for 12. hipages emails and texts a reminder at least 2 weeks before renewal.
- Contact: the in-app message centre, [email protected] or 1300 762 994. Checked against hipages' terms on 1 October 2026.

How to cancel hipages: contact hipages by phone, email or in the app, and what happens next depends on one thing: whether you are still inside the 7-day cooling-off period with no leads accepted. If you are, you can cancel and get your initial payment back. If you are not, cancelling early can cost you the rest of the term, so the usual move is to switch off auto-renewal and let the membership end on its date.
Everything below comes from hipages’ own business terms, its membership costs page and its business help FAQ, all checked on 1 October 2026. The current terms apply to customers who joined or renewed on or after 1 June 2026. If your last join or renewal was before that, an earlier version applies, so read the one linked from your own agreement.
Step 1: find your term and its end date
Your contract is hipages’ terms plus the details of your package: price, term and inclusions. Those details are confirmed in your key information email, or your auto-renewal email if you have renewed. Find that email first. It tells you:
- whether you are on the 6-month introductory term or a 12-month term
- the date your current term started, which sets your cooling-off window
- the date it ends, which is the date the rest of this plan hangs off
New memberships start on a 6-month introductory term. When a term ends, it renews automatically for 12 months. hipages says it sends a reminder by email and SMS at least two weeks before the renewal.
Step 2: check whether you are in the cooling-off period
You get a 7-day cooling-off period when you first join and again each time the contract renews. If you cancel inside that window and have not accepted a job lead, hipages refunds your initial payment.
The catch is in the terms: accepting a single lead waives your cooling-off right for that term. If you are thinking about leaving at a renewal, decide before you accept anything in the new term’s first week.
Step 3a: inside cooling off, cancel outright
Contact hipages and say you are cancelling within the cooling-off period. The terms say you can cancel by telephone, email or in the app. The contact details listed in the terms are:
| Channel | Where |
|---|---|
| In the app | The message centre in hipages for business |
| [email protected] | |
| Phone | 1300 762 994 |
hipages’ help FAQ also says you can send a cancellation request through its contact form.
Step 3b: outside cooling off, turn off auto-renewal
This is where most tradies are. The current terms say that if you cancel outside the cooling-off period, hipages may charge an early termination fee equal to the subscription fees payable for the remainder of the term, due immediately on cancellation. Cancelling three months into a 12-month term can mean paying the other nine.
The terms give a cheaper exit: you can tell hipages at any time that you do not want the subscription to auto-renew, by telephone, email or in the app, and it will turn that feature off. Your membership then runs to the end of the current term and stops, instead of rolling into another 12 months.
Do it well before the end date rather than waiting for the reminder. There is no benefit in leaving it late, and it removes the risk of missing the email.
Step 4: get it confirmed in writing
The terms do not require any particular wording, but you want a record. Our advice, not a hipages rule: send the request by email, or follow up a phone call or app message with one, and ask hipages to confirm two things in reply:
- That auto-renewal is turned off, or that the cancellation is accepted.
- The exact date your membership and your access to leads end.
Keep that reply with your key information email.
Pausing instead of cancelling
If the problem is a quiet patch, an injury or a holiday rather than the platform, a pause may suit you better. The current terms allow:
| Term | Pause allowance |
|---|---|
| 6-month introductory term | Once, for 14 to 31 days |
| 12-month term | Twice, or combined, for 14 to 62 days in total |
Your term is extended by the length of the pause, you cannot accept leads while paused, and hipages may charge an administration fee during the pause. You cannot pause within two weeks of the end of your current term.
Why the renewal reminder exists
In May 2023 the ACCC announced that hipages had given it a court-enforceable undertaking after an investigation into its subscription renewals. hipages committed to clearly disclose its renewal and cancellation policies in phone scripts and emails, and had added extra email and SMS reminders ahead of automatic renewal. If you believe you were not given the renewal notice your terms describe, raise it with hipages first and keep the correspondence.
Plan the replacement before the end date
The awkward part of cancelling hipages is not the email. It is the quiet phone the week after the membership ends, if nothing else is bringing in work.
Use the time between turning off auto-renewal and your end date. Run the numbers first: our hipages cost calculator works out your cost per booked job, and is hipages worth it covers the maths and the contract terms. If you are leaving, hipages alternatives compares every route out, other marketplaces included.
If you want the replacement built for you, the hipages replacement kit is a one-off Google Business Profile tidy and a landing page for your trade and suburbs, from $1,500 + GST. Every enquiry it brings in comes to you alone, with no credits to spend on it. Run it alongside hipages until your end date, then let the membership lapse.
