// A REAL REPORT, BEFORE YOU START

Web Blend's own website: 66/70 technical points

We scanned webblend.au on 24 September 2026 with this method. This is a saved public-homepage result, not an invented client outcome. Business-profile answers were left unknown. It does not show AI mentions or a Google ranking.

Search crawler root rules
No blanket block found for four search crawlers
Structured business identity
Organization, contact details and seven linked profiles found
Opening hours in homepage schema
Not found: 0/4 points
Main content
Non-empty H1, body copy and 1145 words found

The hours result shows a real limitation: absence from homepage markup is not proof that a business has no published hours. Check the evidence against the visible site before changing anything.

// OPTIONAL LIVE ANSWER SAMPLE

Does an AI answer mention your business?

Test three buyer questions through the Anthropic API with web search. See the answers, matched business names and cited websites. This is a small Claude Haiku sample, not a check of consumer ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews or your overall market visibility.

Free pilot: up to three runs per network each UTC day, within a shared daily allowance of 30 runs. These limits are shared with the optional homepage clarity test. Failed attempts can use the allowance. Each question uses at most one web search. Privacy policy.

What this AI visibility checker measures

AI visibility has two parts. First, a website needs to be crawlable and understandable. Second, an answer engine needs enough independent evidence to mention or cite the business for a real query. This checker measures the first part and the public foundations that support the second.

Search crawler access

Checks blanket root rules in robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot. It does not test each bot through your firewall or audit every URL.

Business identity

Checks structured data, business type, contact details, hours and linked profiles.

Page clarity

Checks non-empty title and description, a main heading and body copy, plus an XML sitemap. It cannot judge factual accuracy or content quality.

Independent evidence

Uses your answers about Google Business Profile, recent reviews and corroborating listings.

How the readiness score works

Nine website checks contribute 70 points. Your three business-profile answers contribute a separate 30 points. Unknown answers stay unknown; they do not lose points. A combined /100 score appears only when all three answers are supplied. We publish the weighting so the result is repeatable and you can see which changes will move it. These are Web Blend's diagnostic weights, not ranking or citation weights published by an AI platform.

FAQ schema, review markup, llms.txt and training-crawler policy are shown for context but are worth 0 points. Blocking training use is a publisher choice, not an AI search readiness failure.

Method reviewed . Maintained by Luke, founder of Web Blend. Business details. Sources: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Search Central and Perplexity.

24 September update: unknown business answers stay unscored; empty metadata no longer passes; navigation, footers and explicitly hidden text are excluded from the main-content check. The parser reads returned HTML, not CSS layout or JavaScript-rendered content. Readable body copy and a non-empty H1 are a presence check, not a content-quality score.

Reproducible parser example

An empty title, description and H1 plus 310 navigation words previously passed the metadata and content checks. With this method they fail. A page with a non-empty title, description, H1 and a useful service paragraph can pass without adding filler to reach a word target. This is a software regression example, not a measured ranking improvement.

Data handling: the checker sends the website URL to Web Blend's scan endpoint, which fetches the public homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap files. If you ask for the free ChatGPT mention check, your email, business, town, optional first name, score, top fixes and checked URL are sent through Web3Forms, and a homepage clarity test runs. When that service is enabled, up to 5,000 characters of public homepage text are sent to Anthropic. The separate live-answer sample sends your three prompts and approximate city to Anthropic, with business-name and domain matching performed by Web Blend. Reports stay in your browser unless downloaded. Daily keyed network hashes enforce free limits. Records older than seven days are cleared on subsequent successful runs; infrastructure and provider logs follow their own retention policies. See our privacy policy.

AI visibility checker questions

What is an AI visibility checker?

An AI visibility checker audits whether AI search systems can access and understand a website, or monitors whether a brand appears in live AI answers. This free tool provides the technical readiness audit.

Does a high score mean ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No. A high score means the website has strong technical foundations. Recommendations also depend on the query, location, independent sources, reputation and each platform's current index.

Does llms.txt improve AI or Google rankings?

There is no established ranking benefit. We report llms.txt as an optional publishing convention and give it no points. Useful content, crawlability and corroborating sources matter more.

Can I block AI training bots and still appear in AI search?

Often, yes. Search and training controls use different crawler tokens. This checker scores search access separately and does not penalise a publisher for blocking GPTBot, ClaudeBot or Google-Extended.
