How much do web designers charge in Australia?

// THE STRAIGHT ANSWER

The straight answer

Web designers in Australia charge roughly $500 to $2,000 for a freelancer build, $3,000 to $10,000 or more at an agency, and $75 to $150 an hour when billing by time. Hourly billing is the number to be most careful with, because the final invoice depends on how long the job takes, not what it is worth. Fixed-price quotes put that risk on the designer, where it belongs.

Web Blend works on fixed prices only: a landing page is $1,500 + GST and a full conversion website starts at $2,800 + GST, agreed before any work starts. When comparing quotes, compare what is included, not just the number. Hosting, content writing and post-launch changes are where cheap quotes quietly grow.
