// WEB DESIGN FAQ

Do I need a web designer or can I use a website builder?

// THE STRAIGHT ANSWER

The straight answer

You can use a website builder like Wix or Squarespace if you need a basic online presence, have more time than money, and are comfortable doing the work yourself. Builders cost $200 to $800 a year and take a weekend to get something live.

Hire a web designer when the website has a job to do: bringing in calls and quote requests. A professional build gets you custom design, proper local SEO foundations, faster load times and copy written to convert, which template builders do not do for you. The honest test is the value of one job. If a single new customer is worth more than the build cost, the designer pays for themselves quickly.
