Website cost calculator: the number after the sticker price

Website cost calculator results here work differently to the estimate widgets: instead of inventing an average, it takes the real numbers from any quotes or plans you are weighing up, up-front price and monthly fees, and shows what each one actually costs over the years you will keep the site, including the month one overtakes the other.

// TWO WAYS TO PAY

Compare what two website options really cost

Put a builder plan, an agency quote or a care-plan proposal in each column. The defaults are examples excluding GST: option B's $2,800 is our published website starting price; its $10 monthly fee is an illustrative input, not a Web Blend care-plan quote. Enter every cost on the same GST basis. We keep anonymous stats on the numbers entered, never who you are.

Type your trade, industry or niche, or tap one:

Option A

Option B

3 years, adjust to your expected timeframe

Monthly fees means everything recurring: platform subscription, hosting, care or maintenance plan, paid plugins. Read it off the plan page or quote in front of you rather than guessing.

Option A over 3 years $2,160

$0 up front + $2,160 in monthly fees

Option B over 3 years $3,160

$2,800 up front + $360 in monthly fees

Over 3 years, option A costs $1,000 less than option B.

Crossover: from month 57, option B becomes the cheaper website. The two options cost the same at month 56.

// TRANSPARENT MATHS

How the calculator gets each result

01

Total cost of an option

up-front cost + monthly fees x 12 x years

02

The gap between them

total A - total B, at the years you set

03

First month the higher build cost wins

round down (up-front price gap / monthly fee gap) + 1

Applies when that option has lower monthly fees.

This compares the numbers from your quotes or plans. No market average is added. It assumes the monthly fees stay constant; a renewal price, introductory discount or later price change can change the result.

It does not count your own hours on a DIY build, future redesigns or changes in enquiries. It does not add or remove GST, so compare both options on the same basis and include all relevant ongoing fees.

// A FIXED REFERENCE POINT

What a website costs when the price is published

Most of the difficulty with "how much is a website" is that so few providers put a number in writing. Ours are published: a single landing page costs $1,500 + GST, flat, and a full conversion website starts from $2,800 + GST, with the final figure quoted before anything starts. What moves the number is how many pages you need and whether we write the content for you, and our websites service page sets out exactly what those builds include.

If you want the wider lay of the land before comparing anything, we have written honestly about what tradies report paying for websites and what web design costs in Darwin, including the cases where the cheap option is the right call. And once a quote is in front of you, this calculator is how to read it: not "is the sticker price low" but "what does this cost over the life of the site".

How much does a website cost in Australia?

The scope decides the price: page count, content, design and integrations all matter. This calculator compares the actual quotes or plans you enter. As a fixed reference point, Web Blend charges $1,500 + GST for a single landing page and from $2,800 + GST for a full conversion website, with the final scope and price agreed before work starts.

Why compare website costs over three years instead of the sticker price?

An option with a low build price can cost more over time if its recurring fees are higher. Enter the build cost and all ongoing fees for both options, then choose how long you expect to keep the site. Three years is a worked-example default, not a prediction of your website lifespan; the slider runs from one to ten years.

What does the crossover month mean?

It is the first whole month when the option with the higher build cost becomes strictly cheaper overall. Divide the up-front price gap by the monthly fee gap, round down, then add one month. With A at $0 plus $60 a month and B at $2,800 plus $10 a month, both total $3,360 at month 56; B is cheaper from month 57. Some pairs never cross, and identical prices remain equal.

Does the calculator save or send my numbers?

No. The calculation runs in your browser as you type, only anonymous stats on the numbers are kept to improve the tool, and there is no signup, email gate or PDF export standing between you and the result.
